I have seen a first draft of the proposed entertainments programme for RT7. My immediate, and not necessarily considered, reaction is that it appears to be a bit over the top.
Call me an old misery but I hope the entertainments programme when finally implemented is suitably restrained. I wasn't planning to buy into a holiday camp!
And obviously we are paying for it. By all means have centralised entertainments within LJDF but outside the development, but inside I think it should be quite low key, paying due regard to the lowest common denominater, which probably means middle aged couples who just want to come to the resort to relax, have some peace and quiet, play a bit of golf etc.
I guess its about ensuring that there is a balance which does not look after the needs of the few at the expense of the many. If what is being planned prevents couples from relaxing quietly by the pool at any time of the day and being able to go into the clubhouse for a drink and some food without the constant background of the "the fun never stopping" [quote]then I would suggest that it's a bit over the top.
Other than that I'm obviously happy that the developers are concerned about helping people enjoy themselves when they're on holiday.
I'd be interested to know other people's initial reactions to this new development.
