Well it is certainly not living up to the 5-star hype.

There are so many luxury hotels groups and I was hoping that we would see the likes of Intercontinental, Banyan Tree, Sofitel, Barcolo, Four Seasons, Kempinski, Hyatt, Sheraton, St Regis, Westin, Shangri-la and the Rocco Forte group.

I guess the Barcelo will now become a backpackers hostel!

I am actually delighted. I wish to rent my property out and if a four star group runs it I suspect we will see a greater influx of people. This will push prices up anyway.

Given the size of the whole complex I would prefer to have a Swiss company pushing our properties across Europe than say a Best Western.

No point in having a half empty complex pricing out all those caught up in the global recession.

My view, this is a good result and we should not be too greedy. Frankly we should be happy they are still being built!

Jackie, I do see your point. I too would have been disappointed if it had been Best Western and agree that a company marketing in Europe will increase our properties rental potenital.

I believe people buy into a brand however, and if two apartments in Saidia are being let for roughly the same price, one with a luxury 5star group and the other with a middle of the road, tired hotel group, I know which one I would choose.

I also think it would increase the resale value if we had a slightly more upmarket hotel group as our management company. This was one of the reasons that led me to chose LJDF in the first place, as I beleived I was buying into the best brand.
